My struggle with eating

My struggle with eating

I never liked sharing my food but now I’m the person asking people to split meals with me.

I had a close relationship with food. I even seriously considered going to culinary school. I’m not saying I’m an Iron Chef, but I did get busy in the kitchen. Now I can’t even look at food. Aromas that once made me happy now make me want to vomit. I did slow down on eating and gradually lost weight. I went from 155lbs to 127lbs within 14 months. I was in such intense pain that hunger did not matter. Most times I did not feel the hunger, I’d just feel how tired my body was and I’d force myself to eat or have a protein drink. Because I had to eat, I’d eat anything that tasted good and that was sugar and seafood. Fruit-mixed oatmeal, ice cream, and raw sushi were my go-to’s. They were the only things that did not make me gag. Weird, right?

It wasn’t until just a few months ago that I started to eat a little more and gain some weight. Cravings and hunger have started to kick in again but it’s minimal. Getting my appetite back somewhat is a relief. I didn’t know how long it was going to last and I was genuinely scared that one day I was going to harm my body by not eating.

Now that I am getting my appetite back, I’ve been researching the best diets to follow. Avoiding inflammatory foods is key.
