Travel Diary: Europe

Beautiful, elegant, and romantic Paris

Is rich in culture and known for the famous Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Versailles, pastries, and style. This is hands down the best trip I’ve taken and I’m very grateful for the opportunity.

Day one, ya girl walked over 12,000 steps and I was not on Paris time, yet. TWELVE THOUSAND! Nothing was stopping me; I walked the entire 7th arrondissement. Located on the Rive Gauche, Left Bank, this village-like neighborhood is nestled in the middle of all Parisian city gems, providing a charming atmosphere. Day two and three also consisted of a lot of walking with minimal pain. The rest of the trip was a mix of walking and Uber. Though, I didn’t feel much pain most of the trip, I also did not eat much. It didn’t help that I did not adjust to the time zone, I’d wake up at 1pm and wouldn’t want to eat until dinnertime and that’d be the only thing that I ate for the day. To get me snacking more, I’d go to the express market and grab baguettes, cheese assortment, prosciutto, smoked salmon, and Bordeaux. Bordeaux was my bff the entire trip. Fun fact: red wine contains Quercetin which is great for inflammation-post soon come. It wasn’t the Parisian fine dining that I was prepared for but it got the job done and I saved money. One thing that has been bothering me is barely eating the Duck Confit that I order at brunch with my girls. We were at the iconic Cafe de Flore and I still could not get my appetite together. Very annoying.

During the leg of the trip, we took Thalys train to Amsterdam. Not my favorite place but to be fair I wasn’t there long enough for a full experience. I did a lot of walking through the canals stopping at various outdoor markets. Also got the chance to stop by a few Coffeeshops, my favorite is The Dolphins. Walking inside of the shop was official Amsterdam culture shock because everyone was casually chilling smoking weed. There are small cafe style tables upstairs and huge seating booths for larger parties downstairs. I want to call out that the music selection was great; I was in my zone. You place your order at the counter upstairs where you’ll choose from their menu. They provide the following: Sativa’s(Tesla Power & White Dolphin), Indica(Dolphin Diesel, Haze, and Kush), has options, pre-rolls, and edibles. We opted for a few grams of Kush, Tesla Power, and Haze.

The timing of this trip was perfect because I did experience a few bad nights and our magic from Amsterdam helped a lot. Also a lot stronger than my American magic.

Ultimately, this was a painless trip, despite a couple of nights. Even the long flights were smooth sailing. Although I was very active, I did relax the entire trip which was the goal.
