Travel Diary: St. Thomas

Is mind over matter real?

This was the most relaxed I’ve felt in a very long time. And I’m talking years.

For the five days that we were in St. Thomas, I barely felt any pain. On a scale of 1-10, I usually sit between 7-10 on a daily basis. While in St. Thomas, I was a consistent 3. It felt so good to feel somewhat normal again; however, because we didn’t want to take any chances, we did find a plug out there and I also had my CBD oil handy.

I had so much energy, I was always ready for the next move. T had to tell me to chill a few times, he couldn’t even keep up. But I didn’t want to lose my momentum and wanted to take full advantage of that rare moment. We went for a quick getaway, so there wasn’t much time to spare. We traveled to St. John for a day and did a lot of walking and shopping. Not once did I need to take a break. We spent a day in the capital chilling with the locals and being annoyed by the non-local vendors. We spent a day at Sapphire Beach bathing in the sun.

The only bad moment during this amazing trip was when we boarded the plane to go home. The minute I sat in my seat and buckled my seatbelt, my pain kicked in and it kicked in fast. It lasted the entire flight. I cried the entire flight. It was as if the pain said “Go enjoy your trip, girl. I’ll be here when you get back.” Instead, it was waiting for me in seat 8A.

So, why was my pain so minimal? I was less stressed than usual but was is it just my stress level? Questions…
