My Favorite Teas/Superfoods for Relief

My Favorite Teas/Superfoods for Relief

UPDATE 6/26/2020: I’m still BIG on tea and mainly Tumeric tea these day. However, a couple of my girls have been trying to put me onto superfoods and I finally listened and placed an Amazon order for Boswellia and Curcumin powder. I also purchased the Cacao Tumeric Latte Blend from Golde. I love that Golde is co-founded by a black woman and is NYC-based. Below are some quick healthline benefits of each regarding pelvic issues:

  • Boswellia offers relief of acute or chronic inflammation associated with Premenstrual Disorder, Endometriosis, PCOS, and Fibromyalgia.

  • Curcumin is a natural anti-Inflammatory compound, as mentioned below in the original post.

  • Cacao can help improve mood swings, cramp and iron levels during the menstrual cycle. It is supposed to relax the muscles as it contains magnesium, omega-3 and omega 6 fatty acids.

I really have great people in my life who are always suggesting things for me to try. Thank you Frannie & Jasmine for these suggestions!

ORIGINAL 6/15/2019: Organic Raspberry Tea is my absolute favorite. Thank you to one of my great friends Alina for purchasing this for me! Let me make it clear that it does not taste like raspberries, though. It has a similar taste to black tea. Red raspberry leaves are rich in vitamins A, variety of B vitamins, C, and E. It also provides minerals such as potassium, magnesium, zinc, phosphorus, iron, and antioxidants. These vitamins and minerals are in a readily absorbable form, making red raspberry tea great for supplementing a balanced diet during preconception, pregnancy, and even after! It also helps to ease menstrual symptoms and discomfort, nausea, improve reproductive health, balance hormones to increase fertility, and improve immune system, and could help prevent miscarriage by strengthening and toning the uterine wall. For my ladies who are always cold like me, one ounce (28 grams) of red raspberry leaves contain 3.3 mg of iron, which is 18% of the recommended daily intake for women aged 19–50. Getting enough iron can combat the anemia often experienced by women with heavy menstrual cycles. The uterus needs a lot of love and red raspberry leaves provides just that.

Tumeric is a popular spice made from the rhizome or root of the Cúrcuma long plant. Curcumin is proven to improve immune function with antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and antibacterial properties. Curcumin helps reduce arthritis symptoms, reduce cardiovascular complications, boosts immune regularity, prevents/treats cancer, along with many other benefits.
